Hull Transport of the 1940s
These images show Hull transport that our visitors might be familiar with perhaps as children in the 1940s
Buses of the 1940s
From horse drawn trams, to steam trams, electric trolley buses, to Omnibuses - we and generations of our families before us have relied upon the local public transport system.
Bus rides through the town - mum reminding you to, 'get ready and look out the window - see the boats on the River' as you crossed the bridge into town.
Buses got you to the shops, to meet with friends or a future husband/wife, to get to the cinema, to the dance hall, the theatre, to work or the job interview, and to school.
